No. 10 (Inter-Allied) Commando was formed in January 1942 and included No. 1 and No. 8 Troops (French) , No. 4 Troop (Belgian), Dutch Troop, Norwegian Troop, Polish Troop, X Troop (German and Austrian, Hungarians and Greeks), Yugoslav Troop, which often served detached in other theatres.

Nos 1 & 8 Troops - French
No 2 Troop - Dutch
No 3 Troop - Refugees from Axis countries, many of Jewish faith (also known as 'X' Troop; 'British' Troop")
No 4 Troop - Belgian
No 5 Troop - Norwegian
No 6 Troop - Polish
No 7 Troop - Yugoslavian
