Dear Stephane,
We came across this same memorial in marguerite sur mer last summer. One of the men with no known grave is D.Mercer.
My mother worked for his mother, a grocer, in a little village (now a town) called Maghull north of Liverpool. He was an only child, I believe and he used to deliver butter and milk on his grocers bike all over. My mother had very fond memories of him and he was missed terribly by everybody when he was reported missing and later presumed dead.

I am not sure whether they ever found out exactly where he was killed it is very sad.

My father who lived nearby joined the Commandos (no 3) a little later but somehow survived.

I think that you do their memory proud by posing as you do.
