Greetings All,
I?m a new member, Ken, aka kilogulf59, and I have great interest in how WWII Commandos were trained. What I?d like is a syllabus or other documentation listing their physical, weapons, and combatives training, et cetera, at one of the establishments. For some reason these seem exceptionally hard to come by.

Hi there and welcome to the CVA
You may wish to contact Paul MacDonald who has made enquiries about this before and I believe discovered some material from Lochailort. His website address is http://www.macdonaldarms.com/
He has posted messages of a similar nature to yours on the forum before. Have a look at this CVA message thread : http://www.commandoveterans.org/cdoForum/posts/list/238.page
Finally if you have not seen this before it will make interesting reading. It is about Eric Anthony Sykes, one of the two men who developed the Commando and SOE Training techniques. It has good reference documents and books for research:

Hello and thank you Pete.
I will be contacting Mr. MacDonald shortly. The article is an excellent one and I know Phil "the Bristol Bloke" Matthews. He is a very nice man and exceptionally knowledgeable.
A site some of the members here may be interested in is Dennis Martin's forum http://combatives.forumotion.com/ Phil in a member there as well as many others who posses information on WWII military units and training, especially H2H and weapons.
Again, thank you Sir.
