On behalf of a friend who is seeking to trace details of her grandfather's wartime experiences. Her grandfather, John Benson, previously in the TA in West Yorkshire, enlisted in the Grenadier Guards in 1940 - army no. 2671121. He was killed on 25 Jannuary 1944 at Anzio. We are exploring possibility contacting someone who was involved at Anzio in January 1944 and might have known him.
