SBS and Greek Sacred Sqn. Rhodes - HDML 1283

Jayne Jones has provided this interesting image from her father's collection. Jayne's father was D/JX.303482 Able Seaman George Duguid Reid who was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for distinguished service, efficiency and zeal whilst serving in the Aegean and the relief of Greece during the period 1944-1945. (LG37220, p4125).

Jayne adds the following "Dad wasn't in the Commandos. I do know he was on HDMLs and seemed to get about a bit. He was based in Egypt at some point and was awarded the DSM in 1945 and was mentioned in the London Gazette."

As can be seen there appear to be men from different units in this image. Jayne has some more photos.
